OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Environment and the Minister of Lands and Forestry dated October 2, 2020, and pursuant to

Section 23 and subsections 24(

c) and (

e) of

Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act , and subsections 6(2)(

e) and 11(

e) of

Chapter 504 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Wildlife Act , and in reference to subsections 104(

a) and (

d) and 105(3)(a), (

b) and (

m) of

Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Environment Act , and subsections 9(1) and 25(1) and (4) of the Acts of 1998, the Wilderness Areas Protection Act , is pleased, in consideration of One Dollar ($1.00) to authorize the Minister of Environment and the Minister of Lands and Forestry: (

a) to enter into a revised land management agreement with Ducks Unlimited Canada, its successors or approved assigns, to manage approximately 1,859 hectares (4,594 acres) of Provincially owned lands under the administration and control of the Department of Environment and the Department of Lands and Forestry, for the purposes of construction and maintenance of a dam and other water control structures and related works for the purposes of improving and maintaining the water level for the benefit of breeding and nesting migratory waterfowl at the Missaquash Marsh, shown outlined in bold on the attached

Schedule “A”; and, (

b) to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
