OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Public Works dated July 19, 2022, and pursuant to
Section 18 of
Chapter 371 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Highways Act, and
Section 80 of
Chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Expropriation Act, is pleased to: (
a) extinguish the right of the public to use those portions of the public highway, identified as Parcels 1 and 2, collectively containing an area of 652.8 square metres (0.16 acres), more or less, located at or near West Porters Lake Road, Porters Lake, Halifax County, more particularly described in
Schedule "A" and as shown on
Schedule "B" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (
b) authorize the conveyance of the two parcels of surplus land, Parcels 1 and 2, to Denise Harlow of Porters Lake, Halifax County, for the consideration of $6,000.00 plus HST of $900.00 for a total purchase price of $6,900.00; (
c) authorize the Minister of Public Works to make and execute a Deed of Conveyance in such form as the Minister determines to effect the conveyance of the lands herein above described; and (
d) authorize the Minister of Public Works to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purpose of this Order.
