1984 BILL Second Session, 20th Legislature, 33 Elizabeth II THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ALBERTA BILL FAMILY MONTH ACT DR. BUCK First Reading Second Reading Committee of the Whole Third Reading Royal Assent

Preamble BiU Dr. Buck BILL FAMILY MONTH ACT (Assented to , 1984) WHEREAS the family is the basic unit of society and, as such, warrants special attention and recognition; THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: Month' '^'"'''^ ''^^^ ^^^ month of May in each year is hereby declared to be and shall be recognized as "Family Month" in the province.

(2) The Minister of Social Services and Community Health may, providing money has been appropriated to that purpose by the Leg islature, devise and publish slogans, signs or devices and publish promotional material to assist in the recognition and celebration of Family Month in the Province and may provide for suggestions and guidance to be made available to community, cultural, religious or other groups who wish to hold and promote events to celebrate and recognize Family Month. ^^ominginio £ This Act comcs into force on Proclamation.
