An Act to Amend the Motor Vehicle Act Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as fol- lows: 1

Section of the Motor Vehicle Act,

chapter M-17 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended by adding after subsection (2) the following: 35(3) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, when a vehicle is owned and operated by a volunteer fire- fighter, whose membership in a fire brigade has been ap- proved by the chief of a fire department, and the volunteer firefighter has fastened a special firefighter registration plate to his or her vehicle, the annual registration fee shall be nil. 2 This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation. Loi sur les véhicules à moteur, cha- pitre M-17 des Lois révisées de 1973, est modifié par l’adjonction après le paragraphe (2) de ce qui suit : 35(3) Nonobstant toute autre disposition de la présente loi, aucun droit annuel d’immatriculation n’est imposé pour un véhicule qui appartient à un pompier bénévole et est conduit par lui, si son affiliation à un corps de pom- piers a reçu l’approbation du chef d’un service d’incendie et qu’il a attaché une plaque d’immatriculation spéciale de pompier à son véhicule. 2 La présente loi entre en vigueur à la date fixée par proclamation.
