Exemption

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is exempt from the application of the Electrical Power Control Act, 1994

and the Public Utilities Act

for all aspects of a contract with Abitibi respecting the purchase of the right to interrupt power supplies to the Abitibi operations at Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador including

(

a) negotiating and executing all contracts necessary or incidental to this exemption; and

(

b) acquiring and paying from its operating account all amounts to be paid under those contracts.
