OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated October 3, 2008, and pursuant to
Section 22 of
Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act, is pleased to: (
a) reappoint Sister Dorothy Moore of Sydney Mines, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, Mr. Prem Dhir of Truro, Colchester County and appoint Brad Parks of Port Hawkesbury, Inverness County, as commissioners of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a term of office of three years commencing October 29, 2008; (
b) determine that Sister Dorothy Moore, Mr. Prem Dhir and Brad Parks be paid remuneration at the rate of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each half day spent at duly called meetings of the Commission; and (
c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Sister Dorothy Moore, Mr. Prem Dhir and Brad Parks and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
