I, Joyce Murray, Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection, order that the Hunting Regulation, B.C. Reg. 190/84, is amended as set out in the attached Appendix. — J. MURRAY , Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection.

Appendix

Section 1 (1) of the Hunting Regulation, B.C. Reg. 190/84, is amended by repealing the definition of "tine" or "point" and substituting the following:

"tine" or "point" means the branch of an antler which is longer than it's breadth and is at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) in length, and for the purpose of determining the length of a tine

(

a) the breadth of the tine is measured (if extending from a palmation of an antler, then in the plane of the palm) at a location at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) from the tip of the tine, and

(

b) the length of the tine is measured from its tip end, following the midline of the profile of the tine, and following the natural curvature of the tine, to the midpoint of the straight line along which the breadth is measured; .

Section 16 is amended

(

a) in subsection (1) by repealing paragraph (

a) and substituting the following:

(

a) in Region 2 or 8 or in M.U.s 7-02 to 7-15, 7-17 or 7-24 to 7-26, an elk, , and

(

b) in subsection (2) (

b) by repealing subparagraph (

i) and substituting the following:

(

i) an elk in region 2 or 8 or M.U.s 7-02 to 7-15, 7-17 or 7-24 to 7-26, or.

Section 16.1 (1) is amended by striking out "in the case of a moose, an elk," and substituting "in the case of a moose, a bison, an elk,".

latitude; thence upstream along the Tuchodi River to the northwest side of the mouth of Childers Creek; thence following the height of land between Childers Creek and Dead Dog Creek west southwest and then southerly to the height of land east of Larman Creek then westerly across the height of land north of Gathto Creek to the peak of Mt. Shawcross, thence southerly along the height of land between two unnamed creeks to Gathto Creek; thence downstream following the mid-stream of Gathto Creek to the point of commencement. ,

(iii) in subsection (9) by adding ", and in M.U.s 7-02 to 7-15, 7-17 and 7-24 to 7-26, is September 1 to September 9" after "September 30", and

(iv) by adding the following subsection:

(11) A person commits an offence if the person kills a bull elk during the bow only season in M.U.s 7-02 to 7-15, 7-17 and 7-24 to 7-26 unless the bull elk has at least one branched antler with at least three tines (points). ,
