OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General dated April 25, 2012, and pursuant to
Section 22 of
Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia,1989, the Human Rights Act, is pleased, effective June 5, 2012, to: (
a) appoint Andr? E. Cain, Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a commissioner of the Human Rights Commission for a term of three years; (
b) appoint Dr. Joan Boutilier, Wolfville, Kings County, as a commissioner of the Human Rights Commission for a term of three years; (
c) appoint Murray Brown, Lower Sackville, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a commissioner of the Human Rights Commission for a term of three years; (
d) determine the remuneration of Andr? E. Cain, Dr. Joan Boutilier and Murray Brown be at the rate of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each half day spent at each duly called meeting of the Commission plus reasonable expenses; and (
e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Andr? E. Cain, Dr. Joan Boutilier and Murray Brown and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
