EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE This Bill amends The Employment Standards Code to increase an employee's entitlement to unpaid parental leave from 37 weeks to 63 weeks. The period within which that leave must be commenced is extended from one year to 78 weeks. Le présent projet de loi modifie le Code des normes d'emploi de sorte que la durée maximale des congés parentaux sans solde auxquels les employés ont droit passe de 37 à 63 semaines. BILL 211 PROJET DE LOI 211 THE EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS CODE AMENDMENT ACT LOI MODIFIANT LE CODE DES NORMES D'EMPLOI (Assented to ) (Date de sanction : ) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows: SA MAJESTÉ, sur l'avis et avec le consentement de l'Assemblée législative du Manitoba, édicte : C.C.S.M. c. E110 amended 1 The Employment Standards Code is amended by this Act. Modification du c. E110 de la C.P.L.M. 1 La présente loi modifie le Code des normes d'emploi . 2

Section 58 is amended (

a) in the part before clause (1)(

a) and in subsection (2), by striking out " 37 " and substituting " 63 "; and (

b) in subsection (3), by striking out " not later than the first anniversary of the date " and substituting "within 78 weeks after the day ". 2

a) and (
