Explanatory Note 2. These new subsections are added to provide for a seal for the Department of the Provincial Secretary. 3. This

section is repealed as the Publicity Bureau is being trans ferred to the jurisdiction of the Minister of Industry and Develop ment.

Section 10 presently reads: "10.

(1) Publicity for the Province shall, at the direction of the Pro vincial Secretary, be handled by a bureau within the Department to be lmown as the Publicity Bureau.

(2) The Publicity Bureau shall (

a) publicize the resources and development of the Province, (

b) have charge of and arrange for the publicity required by any government Department, and (

c) be responsible for all government advertising and publications of a publicity or promotional nature.".

An Act to amend The Provincial Secretary's Act (Assented to 1 1961) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1. The Provincial Secretary's Act, being

chapter 250 of the Revised Statutes, is hereby amended.

Section 2 is amended (

a) by renumbering the

section as subsection (1), (

b) by adding immediately after the renumbered sub section (1) the following:

(2) The Lieutenant Governor in Council may authorize a seal for the Department which shall be known as the Seal of the Department of the Pro vincial Secretary, and may at his discretion alter or modify it.

(3) The seal may be reproduced upon documents by engraving, lithographing, printing or any other method of mechanical reproduction and when so reproduced has the same force and effect as if it had been manually affixed to the document.

Section 10 is repealed. 4. This Act comes into force on the first day of April, 1961.
