EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE The Improving Access to Breast Cancer Screening Act is established. The cancer authority must establish a screening plan to ensure that individuals who have an increased risk of developing breast cancer are eligible to access breast cancer screening services. The cancer authority must also establish a plan to increase access to breast cancer screening throughout Manitoba. The plan must set out annual targets respecting the rate of participation in screening programs. The plans must be updated every five years.

The cancer authority and the provincial health authority must prepare an annual report on the extent to which the established targets have been achieved.
