Ministry Responsible: AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND FISHERIES Statutory Authority: Acts Animal Disease Control; Livestock Identification; Farming and Fishing Industries Development; Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Statutes Amendment Act, 1997. 1. The following provisions of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Statutes Amendment Act, 1997 are brought into force:

a) the portion of

section that enacts the

definitions of "hide", "hide dealer", "livestock", "livestock dealer", "Meat", "Slaughter" and "Slaughterhouse".

b) section 2, except insofar as it enacts

section 18.1(1)(

a) and (2) of the Animal Disease Control Act;

c) section 3, except insofar as it enacts

section 19(2.1)(b), (

c) concerning an auctioneer or operator, and (

d) of the Animal Disease Control Act;

d) section 4(a), except insofar as it enacts

section 20(2)(u), (v), (z.1), (z.2), (z.3) concerning operators and auctioneers and (z.4) of the Animal Disease Control Act;

e) section 4(b);

f) section 13(

c) insofar as it effects the repeal of the definition of "recorder";

g) sections 17(

c) and 19(

a) and (d). 2. The Animal Disease Control Regulation, B.C. Reg. 150/66 is amended as set out in Appendix 1. 3. The Livestock Brand Regulation, B.C. Reg. 69/81 is amended as set out in Appendix 2.
