On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Hospital Insurance Act Regulations, B.C. Reg. 25/61, are amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

Section 5.10 of the Hospital Insurance Act Regulations, B.C. Reg. 25/61, is repealed and the following substituted:

Out-patient cancer therapy

5.10

(1) In this section:

"BC Cancer" means the program of the PHSA that

(

a) is known as BC Cancer, and

(

b) is responsible for leading the provincial planning and regional delivery of cancer care;

"cancer therapy facility" means a facility that

(

a) is operated by BC Cancer or a regional health board, and

(

b) is designated in writing by the minister for the purposes of this Division.

(2) Out-patient cancer therapy shall be made available to beneficiaries in cancer therapy facilities on the certification of a duly qualified medical practitioner who is a member of the medical staff of

(

a) BC Cancer, or

(

b) a hospital designated by the minister to provide out-patient therapy.

Section 9.1 is amended by striking out " Her Majesty’s armed forces " and substituting " His Majesty’s armed forces ".
