OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage dated December 19, 2014, and pursuant to

Section 5 of

Chapter 22 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act , is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Islay McGlynn as a member of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2012-24 dated February 7, 2012, effective March 3, 2015; (

b) appoint Erik Sande of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a member of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia for a three year term commencing March 3, 2015; (

c) appoint Craig Thompson of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a member of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia for a three year term commencing February 7, 2015; and (

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Erik Sande and Craig Thompson in their capacity as members of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claims, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
