1980 BILL Second Session, 19th Legislature, 29 Elizabeth II THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ALBERTA BILL THE COURT OF QUEEN'S BENCH AMENDMENT ACT, 1980 THE ATTORNEY GENERAL First Reading Second Reading Committee of the Whole Third Reading Royal Assent Title: 1980 (19th, 2nd) Bill 83, The Court of Queen's Bench Amendment Act, 1980 Bill BILL 83 THE COURT OF QUEEN'S BENCH AMENDMENT ACT, 1980 (Assented to , 1980) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Leg islative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1 The Court of Queen’s Bench Act is amended by this Act. 2 Section 3(1) is amended (

a) by adding the following after clause (a): (a.1) the associate chief judge who shall be called the As sociate Chief Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Al berta, (

b) in clause (

b) by striking out “38” and substituting “42”. 3 This Act comes into force on the day upon which it is assented to. 1 Explanatory Notes This Bill will amend

chapter 5 of the Statutes of Alberta, 1978. 2 Section 3(1) presently reads: 3(1) The Court consists of (

a) the chief judge who shall be called the Chief Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, (b) 38 other judges who shall be called justices of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, and (
