Statute: Workers’ Compensation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour and Advanced Education, dated December 21, 2020, and pursuant to Sections 151, 152 and 153 of

Chapter 10 of the Acts of Nova Scotia, 1994-95, the Workers’ Compensation Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Rodney F. Burgar of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a member and the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia for a term commencing January 19, 2021 and expiring the earlier of July 18, 2021 or the date that the next Chair of the Board of Directors is appointed; and (

b) order that Rodney F. Burgar be remunerated in the amount of $20,000 per year, to be paid pro rata , plus $300 per day for attendance at meetings of the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia and its committees and for meeting preparation days, to a maximum total remuneration of $50,000 per year in addition to reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred in connection with the work of the Board of Directors, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service.
