CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Northern Municipalities Act (Assented to December 22, 1991) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title1 This Act may be cited as The Northern Municipalities Amendment Act, 1991 . S.S. 1983 c.N-5.1 amended The Northern Municipalities Act is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section amended3

Section is amended by adding Asection 111.7 and@ after ASubject to@.

Section 111.7 amended 4(1) The following clause is added after clause 111.7(2)(d): A(d.1) the establishment and carrying out of industrial and commercial activities that are intended to promote economic and social development in northern Saskatchewan@.

(2) Subsection 111.7(6) is amended by striking out ANotwithstanding any other Act,@ and substituting ANotwithstanding: (

a) any other provision of this Act; or (

b) any other Act@.

(3) Clause 111.7(10)(

b) is amended by striking out Aclauses (2)(

a) to (d)@ and substituting Aclauses (2)(

a) to (d.1)@. Coming into force5 This Act comes into force on the day of assent but is retroactive and is deemed to have been in force on and from January 1, 1988.
