OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Nova Scotia Police Complaints Commissioner dated March 18, 2020, and pursuant to

Section 11 of

Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act , is pleased to, effective April 1, 2020: re-appoint Judith McPhee, Q.C., of Halifax Regional Municipality (Bedford) to the position of Nova Scotia Police Complaints Commissioner for a term of four months; order that Judith McPhee, Q.C., be remunerated for her services in the amount of $50.00 per hour up to eighty (80) hours a month and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling her duties as Police Complaints Commissioner provided that such reimbursement does not exceed that normally payable to members of the civil service; and order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Judith McPhee, Q.C., and indemnify her from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of her activities in relation to her appointment as Nova Scotia Police Complaints Commissioner and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends her, the Province will be in control of the case.
