Bill No. 13 of A BILL TO AMEND THE SUPPLEMENTARY ALLOWANCES ACT NOTE This Bill amends The Supplementary AllOOJances Act, being

chapter of the Statutes of Alberta, 1952. This Act is amended by deleting from

section 3, sub section (2) the present provision that to be eligible for an allowance under the Act a person must have been resident in the Province for the greater part of the three years immediately preceding the grant of an old age pension, old age assistance, or a blind person's allowance, and by provid ing that he must satisfy such residence requirements as may be prescrPoed by regulations.

Chapter of the Statutes of Alberta, 1954, which came into force on June 1st, 1954, increased the maximum amount of the supplementary allowance from ten to fifteen dollars per month. section of this Bill gives Legislative approval to the change. This Bill comes into force on the 1st day'of April, 1955. J. W. RYAN, Acting Legislative Co·unsel. (This note does not form any pa-rt of the Bill but is offered in expwnation of its provisions.) BILL No. 13 of
