Order in Council 951/2020

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the Minister of Education directed an urgent review of the Peel District School Board (the “Board”) pursuant to

Part II of Ontario Regulation 43/10, made under the Education Act , R.S.O. 1990, c. E.2, as amended (the “Act”) and, subsequently, directed an investigation of the Board’s affairs pursuant to

section 230 of the Act;

And

whereas the Minister is of the opinion that the Board has failed to comply with the directions given to the Board under subsection 230.3 (1) of the Act after completion of the investigation;

Now therefore , pursuant to subsection 230.3 (2) of the Act, control and charge over the administration of the affairs of the Board be vested in the Ministry of Education effective June 22, 2020.
