Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated April 22, 2021, and pursuant to

Section 49 of

Chapter I (1992 Supplement) of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the House of Assembly Act , and

Section 19 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , do, effective the 27th day of May, 2021, (

a) subject to clause (b), appoint David J. Hastings, Barrister, an Assistant Clerk of the House of Assembly; (

b) determine the appointment be for a probationary period and that the appointment be made permanent after one year of satisfactory service as is determined by the Chair of the House of Assembly Management Commission; (

c) determine the salary scale of David J. Hastings to be at the Civil Service scale in force from time to time for Solicitors in the Department of Justice and determine the salary of David J. Hastings to be at such class and level as is determined from time to time by the Chair of the House of Assembly Management Commission; and (

d) direct that David J. Hastings, in carrying out his duties, shall be subject to the supervision, direction and control of the Chief Clerk of the House of Assembly.
