B.C. Reg. 261/2012 , deposited September 7, 2012, pursuant to the SOUTH COAST BRITISH COLUMBIA TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY ACT [section 46]. Order in Council 607/2012, approved and ordered September 7, 2012.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Administrator, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Greater Vancouver Transit Conduct and Safety Regulation, B.C. Reg. 87/99, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

Section 8 (3) of the Greater Vancouver Transit Conduct and Safety Regulation, B.C. Reg. 87/99, is amended by striking out " or " at the end of paragraph (g), by adding " , or " at the end of paragraph (

h) and by adding the following paragraph:

(

i) use an emergency exit in a transit vehicle or on transit property except in an emergency.

2 The following

section is added:

Dealings with fare officers

8.1 A person must not do any of the following:

(

a) knowingly make any false or misleading statement, or provide any false or misleading information, either verbally or in writing to a fare officer;

(

b) otherwise wilfully obstruct, interfere with, impede, molest or hinder the fare officer in exercising his or her powers or in carrying out his or her duties or functions under the Act.

Section 9 (4) is amended by striking out " 7 (

b) or 8 (1) or (3) (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (

g) or (h) " and substituting " 7 (b), 8 (1) or (3) (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g), (

h) or (

i) or 8.1 (

a) or (b) ".
