OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Finance dated April 28, 2000, pursuant to

Section 20 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act, is pleased to determine that, effective the date of coming into force of the Health Authorities Act: (

a) with respect to those employees of the Central Regional Health Board, the Eastern Regional Health Board, the Northern Regional Health Board and the Western Regional Health Board (the "Employers") whose service with those Employers has been and is deemed to be service in the public service of the Province for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act, their service with a District Health Authority shall be deemed to be service in the public service of the Province for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act; (

b) with respect to persons who become employees of a District Health Authority on or after the date of coming into force of the Health Authorities Act, and who are members of the same bargaining unit as the employees referred to in paragraph (

a) of this Order, their service with a District Health Authority shall be deemed to be service in the public service of the Province for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act; (

c) the employing District Health Authority shall deduct from the salary of the employees referred to in paragraphs (

a) and (

b) of this Order such amount as is directed by the Governor in Council to be deducted from the salary of employees in the public service of the Province and shall pay the same to the Minister of Finance and such amounts when so received shall be paid into and form part of the Public Service Superannuation Fund established pursuant to the Public Service Superannuation Act; and (

d) where by the Public Service Superannuation Act a matching payment is required to be made into the Public Service Superannuation Fund by the Minister of Finance or where by that Act a superannuation allowance or other sum is directed to be paid out of the Consolidated Fund of the Province, then with respect to the employees referred to in paragraphs (

a) and (

b) of this Order, the payment, superannuation allowance or other sum shall be paid by the employing District Health Authority and shall form part of the annual expenses of the employing District Health Authority.
