Definition of "credit"

1 In this regulation, "credit" means the numerical value that is earned by a student for the successful completion of a course.

Who may grant credits

2 A credit may be granted by

(

a) the following, for the grade 9 to 12 courses offered:

(

i) a public school,

(ii) an independent school that meets the requirements of subsection 60(5) of The Public Schools Act ,

(iii) an institutional school approved by the minister; and

(

b) by the Distance Learning Unit of Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning.

Provincial high school diploma

3(1) To be eligible to receive a provincial high school diploma, a student must complete a minimum of 30 credits and meet all program requirements determined by the minister.

3(1) Afin d'être admissibles à un diplôme d'études secondaires provincial, les élèves doivent avoir obtenu au moins 30 crédits et remplir les exigences se rapportant au programme et que prévoit le ministre.

3(2) A student with an individual education plan, as provided for in the Appropriate Educational Programming Regulation , Manitoba Regulation 155/2005, and who has received the individualized programming designation in grades 9 to 12, may obtain a provincial certificate of completion for an Individualized Senior Years Program if he or she

(

a) has completed four years in grades 9 to 12; or

(

b) has reached the age of 21 during the current calendar year.

3(2) Les élèves à l'égard desquels est établi un plan d'éducation personnalisé que prévoit le Règlement sur les programmes d'éducation appropriés , R.M. 155/2005, et qui ont suivi un tel programme de la 9 e à la 12 e année peuvent obtenir un certificat provincial de fin d'études secondaires pour le programme d'études secondaires individualisé dans les cas suivants :

a) ils ont terminé quatre années d'études secondaires;

b) ils ont atteint l'âge de 21 ans pendant l'année civile en cours.

3(3) Despite subsection 3(1), a student may graduate and be eligible to receive a provincial high school diploma if he or she

(

a) entered grade 9 during a period in Column 1 of the following table and completes at least the corresponding number of credits in Column 2 by the end of the school year indicated; and

(

b) meets all program requirements determined by the minister.

For certainty, a pupil who enters grade 9 during a period in Column 1, but who fails to complete the number of credits in Column 2 by the end of the school year indicated must complete 30 credits and the program requirements determined by the minister in order to graduate and be eligible to receive a provincial high school diploma.

Malgré le paragraphe 3(1), peuvent terminer leurs études et avoir le droit d'obtenir un diplôme d'études secondaires provincial les élèves qui, à la fois :

a) ont commencé la 9 e année pendant une des périodes prévues à la colonne 1 et qui ont obtenu au moins le nombre de crédits correspondant qui est indiqué à la colonne 2 au plus tard à la fin de l'année scolaire en question;

b) ont rempli les exigences se rapportant au programme que fixe le ministre.

Local high school diploma

4(1) In addition, a school may, at its option, award a local high school diploma to a student who

(

a) meets the requirements for a provincial high school diploma under

section 3; and

(

b) meets any additional local program and credit requirements of the school board or the independent school.

Diplôme d'études secondaires local

4(1) Les écoles peuvent, à leur gré, accorder un diplôme d'études secondaires local aux élèves qui, à la fois :

a) remplissent les exigences pour l'obtention d'un diplôme d'études secondaires provincial établies dans le cadre de l'article 3;

Provincial mature student graduation diploma

5(1) To obtain mature student standing and be eligible to receive a provincial mature student graduation diploma, a student must complete 8 credits and meet program and other requirements determined by the minister.

5(1) Afin d'obtenir une mention d'étudiant adulte et d'être admissible à un diplôme d'études secondaires pour étudiants adultes, les élèves doivent avoir obtenu au moins 8 crédits et remplir les exigences qui se rapportent au programme et que prévoit le ministre.
