B.C. Reg. 108/2007, deposited April 27, 2007, pursuant to the LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT [Section 692]. Ministerial Order M093/2007, dated April 23, 2007.

I, Rich Coleman, Minister of Forests and Range and Minister Responsible for Housing, order that the British Columbia Building Code Regulation, B.C. Reg. 216/2006, is amended

(

a) by repealing sentence 9.8.6.2. (3) of Division B and substituting the following:

3) A landing may be omitted <at the top of an exterior flight serving> a secondary entrance into a single dwelling unit, <including entrances from attached garages>, provided

a) the stair does not contain more than three risers,

b) <the principal door is a sliding door or swings away from the stair, and

c) only a storm or screen door, if any, swings over the stair and is equipped with hardware to hold it open. ,

(

b) by adding the following sentence 9.25.2.3. (9) to Division B:

9) The thermal resistance rating of attic space insulation may be reduced for a distance of 1.0 m from the exterior wall provided the thermal resistance rating is not less than that required for the wall insulation. , and

(

c) by repealing clause 9.27.2.2. (1) (

c) of Division B and substituting the following:

c) the cladding's components are non-insulating type, hollow-backed aluminum or vinyl and are horizontally oriented and loosely fastened to the backing substrate.
