Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Municipal Affairs dated March 27, 2026, and pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 300 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Municipal Elections Act and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , hereby: (

a) revokes the appointment of Debbie Kavanaugh of Halifax Regional Municipality, as Municipal Elections Officer, made by Order in Council 2025-86 dated March 25, 2025, effective April 14, 2026; and (

b) appoints Peter Wightman of Cumberland County as Municipal Elections Officer for a term commencing April 14, 2026 and ending March 31, 2029.
