Larry’s River Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 78-851 (July 25, 1978), N.S. Reg. 159/78

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 18th day of July, A.D., 1978, and pursuant to

Section 5(1) of

Chapter 6 of the

Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act , is pleased to

designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Larry’s

River Beach, in the County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red

on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-9-55 marked

described in

Schedule “A”, both schedules attached to and forming part of the report and

recommendation.

Schedule “A”

All that certain lot, piece, parcel or tract of land situate, lying and being at Larry’s River, in the

County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia and designated as Larry’s River Beach as

shown on a Plan of Survey filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Office at Halifax as

Crown Land Records No. E-9-55 the said parcel being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at iron post No. 1 situate on the mean high watermark of Tor Bay being south

thirty-three degrees twelve minutes fifty seconds west five hundred eighty-nine decimal

ninety-four feet from Nova Scotia Control Survey Monument No. 10637;

From thence (by grid bearings based on the Nova Scotia Modified Three Degree Transverse

Mercator Projection Zone 4 Central Meridian sixty-four degrees thirty-minutes west longitude)

north twenty-eight degrees eighteen minutes twenty seconds east, ninety-nine decimal

ninety-eight feet to iron post No. 2;

Thence north seventy-one degrees two minutes twenty seconds east, six hundred ninety-two

decimal thirty-eight feet to iron post No. 3;

Thence north forty-eight degrees six minutes forty seconds east four hundred ninety-five

decimal twenty-six feet to iron post No. 4;

Thence north thirty-three degrees twenty-five minutes zero seconds east, ninety-five feet more

or less to a point situate on the mean high watermark of a pond;

Thence in a northerly direction nine hundred fifty feet, more or less, to a point on the mean

high watermark of the aforesaid pond;

Thence north thirty-three degrees twenty-five minutes zero seconds east, two hundred feet,

more or less, to iron post No. 5;

Thence south eight degrees sixteen minutes fifty seconds east, one hundred forty-one decimal

ninety-four feet to iron post No. 6 being south sixty degrees twenty-nine minutes thirty seconds

east two thousand two hundred seventy decimal thirteen feet from Nova Scotia Control Survey

Monument No. 10638;

Thence in a southwesterly and northwesterly direction three thousand one hundred fifty feet,

more or less, along the mean high watermark of Tor Bay to the place of beginning.
