Crescent Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 28th day of June, A.D., 1976, and pursuant to

Section 5(1) of

Chapter 6 of the

Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act , is pleased to

designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Crescent

Beach, in the Town of Lockeport, in the County of Shelburne, Province of Nova Scotia, as

shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-5-60, marked

Schedule “B”, and described in

Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report

and recommendation.

Schedule “A”

All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Crescent Beach,

in the Town of Lockeport, in the County of Shelburne, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown

outlined in red on a copy of Plan No. E-5-60 attached hereto, and filed in the Crown Land

Records Office, Halifax and being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a Point “A”, said point being an enheat iron post situated on the southeasterly

boundary of the East Green Harbour Road;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) north twenty-four degrees fifty-three minutes thirty-two

seconds east, five hundred seventy-one decimal ten feet to Point “B” being an iron spike placed

where the southeasterly edge of the pavement of the said road leading to East Green Harbour

intersects the southerly edge of the paved road leading from Highway No. 3 to Lockeport;

Thence north sixty-eight degrees fifteen minutes forty-three seconds east, one thousand one

hundred thirteen decimal fifty-four feet to Point “C” being an iron spike on the northerly

shoulder of the aforementioned paved road leading from Highway No. 3 to Lockeport;

Thence north seventy-eight degrees twenty-four minutes fifty-five seconds east, seven hundred

eight decimal zero three feet to Point “D” being an iron spike on the northerly shoulder of the

aforementioned paved road leading from Highway No. 3 to Lockeport;

Thence south fifty-nine degrees fifty-one minutes fifty seconds east, two hundred seventy-five

decimal sixty-one feet to Point “E” being an enheat iron post;

Thence south seventy-nine degrees thirty-eight minutes eighteen seconds east, four hundred

sixty-one decimal ninety-one feet to Point “F” being an enheat iron post;

Thence south seventeen degrees forty-four minutes sixteen seconds east, five hundred decimal

zero zero feet to theoretical Point “G” located on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean;

Thence south seventy-two degrees fifteen minutes forty-four seconds west, two thousand seven

hundred ninety-three decimal ninety feet to theoretical Point “H” located on the waters of the

Atlantic Ocean;

Thence north seventeen degrees forty-four minutes sixteen seconds west, five hundred decimal

zero zero feet to the place of beginning.

Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying

seaward from the mean high watermark.
