Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Business, dated January 19, 2021, pursuant to Sections 8 and 11 of

Chapter 25 of the Acts of 2018, the Develop Nova Scotia Act and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia 1989, the

Interpretation Act , is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Paul Prosper of Paqtnkek, Antigonish County, as a member of the Board of Directors of Develop Nova Scotia, made by Order in Council 2020-073, effective February 25, 2021; (

b) appoint Alex Paul of Cape Breton Regional Municipality (Sydney) as a Director on the Board of Directors of Develop Nova Scotia for a term of four (4) years commencing February 25, 2021; (

c) appoint Carla Swansburg of Annapolis Royal, Annapolis County, as a Director on the Board of Directors of Develop Nova Scotia for a term of four (4) years commencing February 25, 2021; (

d) appoint Jeff McKinnon of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a Director on the Board of Directors of Develop Nova Scotia for a term of four (4) years commencing February 25, 2021; (

e) appoint Kavita Khanna of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a Director on the Board of Directors of Develop Nova Scotia for a term of four (4) years commencing February 25, 2021; (

f) reappoint Jim Eisenhauer of Lunenburg, Lunenburg County, as a Director on the Board of Directors of Develop Nova Scotia for a term of three (3) years commencing February 25, 2021; (

g) reappoint Kevin Stoddart of Halifax Regional Municipality (Hammonds Plains) as a Director on the Board of Directors of Develop Nova Scotia for a term of three (3) years commencing February 25, 2021; (

h) reappoint Sarah Young of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a Director on the Board of Directors of Develop Nova Scotia for a term of three (3) years commencing February 25, 2021; and (

i) order that Alex Paul, Carla Swansburg, Jeff McKinnon, Kavita Khanna, Jim Eisenhauer, Kevin Stoddart, and Sarah Young be remunerated for their service in the amount of $150 per day, and reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling their duties as Directors, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service.
