An Act to amend The Guarantees Acknowledgment Act (Assented to , 1967) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows: 1. The Guarantees Acknowledgment Act is hereby amended. 2. The following sections are added after

section 4: 4a. No guarantee executed on or after the first day of July, 1967 has any effect (

a) unless the certificate issued by the notary public pursuant to

section bears an endorsement in the following form: I am the person named in this certificate and (signature of guarantor) (

b) unless the endorsement is signed by the person making the acknowledgment. 4b. Every certificate issued under this Act on or after the first day of July, 1967 shall be attached to the instrument containing the guarantee to which the certificate relates. 3.
