An Act to Amend the Forest Products Act Loi modifiant la

Loi sur les produits forestiers Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as fol- lows: Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et du consentement de l’Assem- blée législative du Nouveau-Brunswick, décrète : 1

Section 1 of the Forest Products Act,

chapter F-21 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended 1 L’article 1 de la

Loi sur les produit forestiers, cha- pitre F-21 des Lois révisées de 1973, est modifié (

a) by adding the following definition in alphabeti- cal order:

a) par l’adjonction de la définition suivante selon l’ordre alphabétique : “biomass” includes residual treetops, branches, foliage, non-merchantable woody stems, flail chipping residue and such other residual products of the forest; « biomasse » comprend les cimes résiduelles, les bran- ches, le feuillage, les tiges boisées non-marchandes, le résidu de déchiquetage à fléaux et tous les autres produits résiduels de la forêt; (

b) by repealing the definition “primary forest prod- ucts” and substituting the following:

b) par l’abrogation de la définition « produits fo- restiers de base » et son remplacement par ce qui suit : “primary forest products” means « produits forestiers de base » désigne (

a) any unmanufactured product of forest trees of hardwood or softwood species, and

b) wood chips and biomass produced at the harvest site,

Section 3 of the Act is amended 2 L’article 3 de la Loi est modifié (

a) in subsection (1)

i) by repealing paragraph (d); (

b) by repealing subsection (2) and substituting the following:

a) the term of office of the members representing the producers and forest industries shall be for a period not exceeding three years each;

section 6 the fol- lowing: 3 La Loi est modifiée par l’adjonction, après l'article 6, de ce qui suit : 6.1 Any member may participate in a meeting of the Commission by means of telephone or other communica- tion facilities that permit all persons participating in the meeting to hear each other, and any member participating in a meeting by those means shall be deemed to be present at that meeting. 6.1 Un membre peut participer à une réunion de la Com- mission par téléphone ou par un autre moyen de commu- nication qui permet à tous les participants de s’entendre les uns les autres et tout membre qui participe à une ré- union à partir de l’un de ces moyens est réputé être présent à la réunion. 4

a) to encourage and facilitate the achievement of ex- panding markets and equitable prices for both the pro- ducer and consumer of purchased primary forest products, and

b) to encourage and facilitate the optimum utiliza- tion of private woodlot resources.

Section 1

Article 1 (
