EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Bill would amend the Human Rights Act, 2010 to add gender

identity and gender expression as prohibited grounds of discrimination.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and

House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

preamble to the Human Rights Act, 2010 is amended by adding immediately after the

words and comma "sexual orientation," the words and commas "gender

identity, gender expression,"

2. Subsection 9(1) of the Act is amended by adding

immediately after the words and comma "sexual orientation," the words

and commas "gender identity, gender expression,".
