Section 15.1 of the current Act makes it an offence for persons who are in the business of breeding or selling cats or dogs to fail to comply with standards of care set out in that section. This

section is repealed. Under new

section 11.1, it is now an of- fence for any person who owns or has custody or care of any animal to fail to comply with standards of care that are pre- scribed by regulation. The standards do not apply to reasonable and generally accepted practices of agricultural animal care, management or husbandry or to cl asses of animals or activities prescribed by regulation. Veterinarians, and persons acting under their supervision or orde rs, who are providing veterinary care in accordance with the st andards prescribed under the Vet- erinarians Act are exempted from compliance with the stan- dards.

New prohibited behaviours and offences are added as follows: Les nouveaux comportements inte rdits et les nouvelles infrac- tions sont les suivants : In new
