substituting "under the Safe Food for Canadians
Regulations, SOR/2018-108 made under the Safe Food for
Canadians Act (Canada)";

b) by adding the following after clause (a):
(a.1) "dehydrating potatoes" means potatoes that
(
i) meet the Canada No. 1 Grade or Canada No. 2
Grade under the Safe Food for Canadians
Regulations, SOR/2018-108 made under the Safe
Food for Canadians Act (Canada), and
(ii) are grown for the purpose of processing into
dehydrated flakes, granules or powder;
(
c) by repealing clause (e).
Section 8(1) is amended

a) in the portion preceding clause (
a) by striking out
"for net marketable product";
(
b) by repealing clauses (
a) and (
b) and substituting
the following:
(
a) up to $0.07 for each 100 pounds of potatoes, other than
dehydrating potatoes or culled potatoes, sold or
transferred for processing,
(
b) up to $0.05 for each 100 pounds of dehydrating potatoes
sold or transferred for processing, and
(
c) up to $0.02 for each 100 pounds of culled potatoes sold
or transferred for processing.
4 This Regulation comes into force on August 1, 2025.

(8) The responsibility for the administration of the unexpended
balance of program 10, Communications and Public Engagement, of

AMENDMENT REGULATION

Section 1 is amended

(
b) by adding the following after clause (d):
(d.1) "broker" means a person who brings parties together
and assists in negotiating contracts between the parties;
(
c) by repealing clause (
q) and substituting the

(q) "Plan" means the Alberta Chicken Producers Plan that
is amended and continued under

(

substituting "$0.021".
Section 19(4) and (5) are amended by striking out "January
31" and substituting "March 1".
Section 20 is amended
(
a) in subsection (2) by adding "signed" after
"acknowledgment";
(
b) by repealing subsection (3) and substituting the
following:
(3) If an interest is registered under subsection (1), the Board
must notify the mortgagee of any application to reallocate all or
any part of the authorized quota to which the registration applies.
(
c) by adding the following after subsection (5):
(6) The Board shall not register a financial interest if there is an
appointment of attorney registered under
section 22 in respect of
a person who has loaned money to an authorized producer.
Section 22(7) is repealed and the following is
substituted:
(7) If the Board has acknowledged registration of the appointment
of attorney, the Board shall not approve an application for any of the
following unless the person appointed as the attorney provides
written consent to the same:
(
a) cancellation and reallocation of the authorized quota
specified in the appointment of attorney;
(
b) transfer of an ownership interest in the authorized quota
specified in the appointment of attorney.
Section 45 is amended by striking out "May 31, 2025" and
substituting "May 31, 2032".

amended by this Regulation.
2 The following is added after
section 4:
Duties and functions of joint municipal policing committees
4.1 A joint municipal policing committee shall have the following
duties and functions:
(
a) overseeing the administration of the municipal police service
agreements;
(
b) representing the interests and concerns of the public and of
the councils to the officers in charge;
(
c) developing a yearly plan of priorities and strategies for
policing for the represented municipalities in consultation
with the officers in charge;
(
d) developing a joint community safety plan in conjunction with
the local police detachments and chief elected officials of the
represented municipalities, including a plan for collaboration
between the communities and community agencies, and
providing the joint community safety plan annually, or on
request, to the Minister;
(
e) assisting in the selection of the officers in charge for the
represented municipalities;
(
f) reporting annually, or on request, to the Minister on the
implementation of and updates to programs and services to
achieve the priorities of the police service.

Amalgamation and Continuance
Under the Federal Act
4 The following is added after
section 77.1:
Continuance of credit unions under federal Act
77.2(1) A credit union seeking the Minister's approval to apply for
federal continuance under
section 175.2(1) of the Act must
(
a) obtain, by special resolution, the approval of its members to
apply for federal continuance, and
(
b) provide the Minister
(
i) information or documents establishing, to the
satisfaction of the Minister, that
(
A) the credit union has sufficiently notified and
informed its members of the effects of the credit
union's proposed federal continuance, and
(
B) the credit union's proposed federal continuance
will not be
(
I) unsound from a business point of view, or
(II) prejudicial to the interests of the members,
customers or creditors of the credit union,
and
(ii) any other information or documents required by the
Minister in deciding whether to approve the credit union
to apply for federal continuance.
(2) All information or documents provided by a credit union under
subsection (1)(
b) shall be delivered to and received, on the
Minister's behalf, by the Corporation.
(3) The Corporation shall assist the Minister to
(
a) manage the provision of information or documents under
subsection (1)(
b) by
(
i) identifying and requesting the information or documents
that the credit union must provide,
(ii) receiving and reviewing the information or documents
provided by the credit union, and
(iii) delivering the information or documents received from
the credit union to the Minister,
(
b) assess the impact of the credit union securing federal
continuance on the Alberta credit union system, and
(
c) determine whether to approve the credit union to apply for
federal continuance by
(
i) providing the Corporation's analysis of the matters
referred to in subsection (1)(b)(i), and
(ii) providing any additional assistance or guidance in
respect of the credit union's proposed federal
continuance that the Minister considers appropriate.
(4) The directors of a credit union may, if authorized by the
members of the credit union at the time of approving an application
for federal continuance under this section, abandon the application
without further approval of the members.
(5) A credit union that receives the Minister's approval to apply for
federal continuance must promptly notify the Minister and the
Corporation when it has secured federal continuance.
(6) On receipt of notice satisfactory to the Minister that the credit
union has secured federal continuance, the Minister shall
(
a) issue a certificate of discontinuance,
(
b) enter the certificate of discontinuance into the register, and
(
c) publish notice of the issuance of the certificate of
discontinuance in the gazette.
(7) A certificate of discontinuance issued under subsection (6) must
be dated as of the day the credit union is continued under the federal
Act.
(8) On the date shown on the certificate of discontinuance, the credit
union has secured federal continuance and becomes a federally
continued corporation.
(9) A credit union that has secured federal continuance is not
entitled to recover any amount paid to the Corporation as an
assessment under sections 148 to 150 of the Act.
(10) A credit union that has secured federal continuance is not
entitled to any share of Central's retained earnings.
Prescribed matters - federal continuance
77.3(1) The Corporation shall establish the form and period of
notice required under
section 175.2(3) of the Act.
(2) For the purposes of
section 175.3(2) of the Act,
(a) "any other Act" includes the federal Act, and
(b) "market conduct rules" means the codes, standards or rules
that govern a business's dealings with its customers and the
public.
