After forming an opinion as to whether a person has abused or neglected an adult and whether the person 's name should be entered in the Adult Abuse Registry, the committee must report its opinion to the person and to the official who referred the matter to the committee.

This Bill requires the committee to also report its opinion t o the person's current or former employer and to his or h er governing professional body, if they had previously received a report after an investigation. Lorsqu'il est d'avis qu'une personne a infligé des mauvais traitements à une autre personne ou a fait preuve d e négligence à son endroit et que son nom devrait être inscrit au registre, le comité doit signaler son opinion à la personne et au fonctionnaire qui lui a renvoyé l'af faire.

La présente modification ferait en sorte d'exiger du c omité qu'il signale également son opinion à l'employeur actuel ou antérieur et à l'organisme professionnel de la personne s'ils avaient déjà reçu une communication après une enquê te.

Section 1 is amended by adding the following definition: "professional body" means the body or person that governs a person's professional status or that certifies, licenses or otherwise authorizes or permits the person to carry on his or her work, profession or occupation. (« organisme professionnel ») 2

("professional body") 3(1) Subsection 21(1) is amended by adding "and " at the end of clause (a), striking out " and " at the end of clause (

a) to the person who is suspected of abusing or neglecting the specified adult, if the person was given an opportunity to provide information under

section 19; (

b) to the current or former employer of the person, if that employer or a manager or supervisor of that employer had received (

i) a report from the minister under subsection 8.1(1) of The Protection for Persons in Care Act , or (ii) a report from the executive director under

section 25.2 of The Vulnerable Persons Living with a Mental Disability Act ; (

c) to the professional body of the person, if the matter was referred to that professional body (

i) under

section 9 of The Protection for Persons in Care Act , or (ii) under

section 25.1 of The Vulnerable Persons Living with a Mental Disability Act ; and (

d) to the designated officer who referred the matter to the committee. Rapport des opinions du comité 21(1.1) Le comité fait rapport de ses opinions :

Loi sur les personnes vulnérables ayant une déficience mentale ;

d) au fonctionnaire désigné qui lui a renvoyé la question. 3(3) The English version of subsection 21(2) is amended by striking out " clause (1)(c) " and substituting "subsection (1.1) ". 3(3) Le paragraphe 21(2) de la version anglaise est modifié par substitution, à « clause (1)(c) », de « subsection (1.1) ».
