EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Bill would amend the Student Financial Assistance Act to allow

the minister to make regulations with respect to converting grants to student loans.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and

House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

1. Paragraph 15(1)(

f) of the Student Financial Assistance Act is repealed and the following

substituted:

(

f) respecting the recovery of student loans,

awards and grants given in error or in excess of an amount permissible under

this Act including the circumstances under which all or part of a grant is to

be converted into a student loan;
