EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE This Bill prohibits an independent officer of the Legislative Assembly from becoming employed by the government within three years after leaving office. Also, a deputy minister or assistant deputy ministe r must not be appointed as an independent officer within t hree years after leaving his or her position, unless all members of the Standing Committee of the Assembly on Legislative Affairs agree to the appointment. a) the Auditor General appointed under The Auditor General Act ; (

Former independent officer not to be employed by government 19.3.1(2) An independent officer must not, within three years after leaving office, be employed by the government or a Crown agency.
