Statute: Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage dated May 5, 2011, and pursuant to Sections 5 and 6 of

Chapter 22 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act is pleased to: (

a) re-appoint Mark Bursey of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, David Bezanson of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality and Wylie Spicer of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as members for three year terms commencing July 5, 2011; (

b) re-appoint Bonnie Baker of Annapolis Royal, Annapolis Country, for a one year term commencing July 5, 2011; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against members of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
