Mitchell BILL WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT SERVICES ADMINISTRATION ACT (Assented to , 1991) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: Definition In this Act, (a) "Irrigation Works" has the meaning given to it in the Irrigation Act; (b) "Minister" means the Minister of Public Works, Supply and Services. Responsibilities and Application2

(1) Except as is provided in this section, the Minister shall be responsible for the administration, design, construction, alteration, extension, repair and maintenance and management of all Irrigation Works in the Province.

(2) This

section shall not be construed so as to affect, amend or alter the Irrigation Act or so as to reassign any of the duties or responsibilities of the Minister defined in that Act.

(3) In the event of a conflict between this Act and the Irrigation Act, the Irrigation Act shall prevail.

Ministers to Co- operate The Minister shall seek the co-operation of the Minister of the Environment in transferring any and all duties and responsibilities relating to Irrigation Works which may at the time of the coming into force of this Act have been the responsibility of the Minister of the Environment or have been administered by his Department and the Minister of the Environment shall provide any and all assistance as may be necessary to give effect to the transfer. 1 completion date The transfer of all responsibility for Irrigation Work to the Minister provided for in this Act shall be completed prior to September 1, 1992.
