B.C. Reg. 248/2023 , deposited December 1, 2023, under the COASTAL FERRY ACT [section 76], INSURANCE ( VEHICLE ) ACT [section 181], MOTOR VEHICLE ACT [section 210] and OFFENCE ACT [section 132]. Order in Council 641/2023, approved and ordered December 1, 2023.
On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective April 5, 2024, the following are amended as set out in the attached Appendix:
(
a) the British Columbia Ferry Regulation, B.C. Reg. 151/99;
(
b) the Insurance (Vehicle) Regulation, B.C. Reg. 447/83;
(
c) the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations, B.C. Reg. 26/58;
(
d) the Violation Ticket Administration and Fines Regulation, B.C. Reg. 89/97.

Appendix
Section 1 of the British Columbia Ferry Regulation, B.C. Reg. 151/99, is amended in the definition of "pedestrian" by striking out " as defined in
section 119 of the Motor Vehicle Act " and substituting " as defined in
section 1 of the Motor Vehicle Act ".
2 The Insurance (Vehicle) Regulation, B.C. Reg. 447/83, is amended
(
a) in
section 1 (1) in the definition of "cycle" by striking out " as defined in
Part 3 of the Motor Vehicle Act " and substituting " as defined in
section 1 of the Motor Vehicle Act ", and
(
b) in
section 150 (1) in the definition of "collision coverage" by striking out " as defined in
Part 3 of the Motor Vehicle Act " and substituting " as defined in
section 1 of the Motor Vehicle Act ".
Section 42.01 of the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations, B.C. Reg. 26/58, is amended by repealing the definition of "cycle" .
Schedule 3 of the Violation Ticket Administration and Fines Regulation, B.C. Reg. 89/97, is amended under the heading " Electric Kick Scooter Pilot Project Regulation " by striking out "
section 18 (1) (b) " and substituting "
section 19 ".
