Chapter 197 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Health Services and Insurance Act, is pleased to approve of amendments made by the Minister of Health to the Prosthetic Devices Tariffs Regulations made by the Minister of Health and the Governor in Council by Order in Council 1999-146 dated April 7, 1999, in the manner set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, effective on and after April 1, 2003.

Schedule “A” ORDER In the matter of the Prosthetic Devices Tariffs Regulations made pursuant to

Section 13 and subsection 17(2) of the Health Services Insurance Act - and - In the matter of the tariff of fees established by the Minister of Health pursuant to clause 13(1)(

c) of the Health Services Insurance Act with respect to prosthetic devices

WHEREAS a tariff of fees for ocular prostheses, effective from April 1, 2000, until March 31, 2003, is set forth in the Prosthetic Devices Tariffs Regulations made pursuant to

Section 13 and subsection 17(2) of

Chapter 197 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Health Services and Insurance Act; AND

WHEREAS it is desirable that the services for ocular prostheses remain unchanged, but that the tariff be replaced, effective April 1, 2003, until March 31, 2006; THEREFORE I, Jane Purves, Minister of Health for the Province of Nova Scotia, pursuant to clause 13(1)(

c) of

Chapter 197 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Health Services and Insurance Act, hereby replace the tariff of fees for ocular prostheses established in the Prosthetic Devices Tariffs Regulations, as set out in the attached amendments to the regulations, and I authorize payments in respect of the tariff. Section 174 of

Chapter 140 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Elections Act, is pleased, effective May 9, 2003, to

a) revoke the tariff of fees and expenses appr oved by Order in Council 2001-40 dated January 24, 2001; and (

b) approve a new tariff of fees and expenses in th e form set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.

Schedule “A” Tariff of Fees and Expenses made by the Governor in Council pursuant to

Section 174 of

Chapter 140 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Elections Act

Interpretation 1 In this Tariff, (a) “during an election” has the same meaning as in the Elections Act; (b) “official list of electors” means the official list that is certified by the returning officer pursuant to

Section 62 of the Elections Act, with the addition of the electors who were added to the list of electors at the advance and ordinary polls. Returning officers 2 The fees [fee] for services provided by a returning officer between elections, at the request of the Chief Electoral Officer, is a stipend to be determined by the Chief Electoral Officer, and a expenses for travel, meals and accommodations as authorized under

Section 26. 3 The fee for services provided by a returning officer during an election, including the receipt of the candidates’ expenses, is, (

a) i f a p o l l i s h e l d ...................................................... $3900.00 plus $0.15 per name on the official list of electors; or (

b) if no poll is held, 50% of the amount payable under clause (a). Assistant returning officers (satellite office) 4( 1 ) The fee for services provided by an assistant returning officer during an election is, (
