Hosting Expenses Exceeding $600.00

Function: 2018 China-Alberta Petroleum Centre (CAPC) Annual Board Meeting

Purpose: Alberta Energy and Alberta Economic Development and Trade co-hosted

the CAPC Annual Board Meeting. The meeting occurs annually, with Alberta and

China serving as hosts in alternate years. The total cost includes transportation, audio-

visual services, simultaneous translation, cultural event, and food and non-alcoholic

beverages provided to members and delegates from Alberta and the China National

Petroleum Corporation.

Function: Capacity Market Regulation Stakeholder Engagement Session

room rental. Water, coffee and tea was provided to participants. The session was

attended in person or via webinar by approximately 89 stakeholders.

Contract Increases Approved Pursuant to Treasury Board Directive 02/2005

Contract: Calgary - Foothills Medical Centre Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit

Interim Renovations

Contractor: Stuart Olson Construction Ltd.

Reason for Increase: The Bone Marrow Transplant Unit renovation at the Foothills

Medical Centre in Calgary is a five-phase project. Identification of scope was limited

due to the immuno-compromised patient population residing in areas to be renovated

with an original estimated budget of $2.5 million. The original Stuart Olson contract

included pre-construction services and was awarded for $539,335. Design was

completed and tendered and SO's contract was then amended by $5,210,665 to bring

the total contract value to $5,750,000. During the first two phases, unforeseen site

conditions were identified impacting scope and

schedule requiring an additional

contract increase of $1,000,000, bringing the total contract value to $6,750,000.

Contract Amount: $539,335.00

% Increase: 1,152%

Amount of Increase: $6,210,665.00

Contract: Calgary - Rockyview General Hospital - Electrical Upgrades

Contractor: Westcor Construction

Reason for Increase: This change was for the finalization of Enmax's new electric

service feeder utility costs for the hospital, bringing the previous GC contract percent

increase from 17% to 22%. This Enmax fee was negotiated to approximately 40% of

the request from Enmax.

Contract Amount: $1,714,000.00

Contract: Edson - Edson Healthcare Centre

Contractor: Stuart Olson Construction Ltd.

Reason for Increase: An agreement was reached to compensate the Construction

Manager for a historical labour rate increase. This will increase the contract from the

previously approved cumulative contract increase of $165,700,000.00 completed

November 2016 to $166,103,000.00

Contract Amount: $65,900,000.00

Contract: High Prairie Health Complex - Community Health and Wellness Clinic

Interiors

Contractor: Krawford Construction

(2011) Inc.

Reason for Increase: After Alberta Health Services (AHS) occupied and began

operating in the HPHC in 2017, various operational issues arose on the base building.

As Krawford Construction was onsite and had trades and labourers available, it was

prudent for them to complete the work, to ensure completion in a timely manner. We

are nearing the completion of the identified remedial issues, and will shortly need to

finalize changes to close out this project. Preliminary cost estimates of the work

exceed the original tolerance of the project; therefore, we are requesting this increase.
