OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated August 31, 2021, and pursuant to Sections 4B, 7, 17A, and 84 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , and

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , is pleased, effective August 31, 2021, to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Loretta Robichaud as Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture; (

b) revoke the appointment of Laura Lee Langley as Deputy Minister of the Office of Citizen-Centred Approaches; (

c) revoke the appointment of Kesa Munro-Anderson as Deputy Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage; (

d) revoke the appointment of Simon d’Entremont as Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines; (

e) revoke the appointment of Julie Towers as Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change; (

f) revoke the appointment of Dr. Kevin Orrell as Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (

g) revoke the appointment of Ava Czapaly as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration and Population Growth; (

h) revoke the appointment of Eiryn Deveraux as Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Housing; (

i) revoke the appointment of Duff Montgomerie as Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education; (

j) revoke the appointment of Paul LaFleche as Deputy Minister of Lands and Forestry and as Deputy Minister of Transportation and Active Transit; (

k) revoke the appointment of Justin Huston as Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs; (

l) revoke the appointment of Nancy MacLellan as Deputy Minister of Seniors; (

m) revoke the appointment of Bernie Miller as Deputy Minister of the Office of Strategy Management; (

n) revoke the appointment of Dana MacKenzie as Associate Deputy Minister of the Office of Citizen-Centred Approaches; (

o) revoke the appointment of Karen Gatien as Associate Deputy Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development; (

p) revoke the appointment of Jeannine Lagasse as Associate Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (

q) revoke the appointment of Nicole Johnson Morrison as Associate Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education; (

r) revoke the appointment of Paula Bond as Associate Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (

s) revoke the appointment of Sandra Cascadden as Associate Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (

t) appoint Nancy MacLellan as Deputy Minister of Advanced Education; (

u) appoint April Howe as Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture; (

v) appoint Justin Huston as Deputy Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage; (

w) appoint Scott Farmer as Deputy Minister of Environment and Climate Change; (

x) appoint Jeannine Lagasse as Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (

y) appoint Dr. Kevin Orrell as Deputy Minister and Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Health Care Professionals Recruitment; (

z) appoint Ava Czapaly as Deputy Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration; (aa) appoint Paul LaFleche as Deputy Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing and Deputy Minister of Seniors and Long Term Care; (bb) appoint Karen Gatien as Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables; (cc) appoint Karen Oldfield as Deputy Minister of the Office of Priorities and Planning; (dd) appoint Peter Hackett as Deputy Minister of Public Works; (ee) appoint Dana MacKenzie as Associate Deputy Minister responsible for the Executive Council Office; (ff) appoint Nicole Johnson Morrison as Associate Deputy Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration; (gg) appoint Craig Beaton as Associate Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (hh) designate Craig Beaton, April Howe, Karen Oldfield, and Peter Hackett as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; (ii) direct that Craig Beaton, April Howe, Karen Oldfield, and Peter Hackett shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head, including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; (jj) fix and determine the salary of April Howe, Karen Gatien, Karen Oldfield and Peter Hackett to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers; (kk) fix and determine the salary of Craig Beaton to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Associate Deputy Ministers.
