Panuke Lake Nature Ecological Site Designation

made under subsections 14(1), (2), (3) and (4) of the

Special Places Protection Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 438

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Education dated

the 16 th day of September, A.D., 1992, pursuant to subsections (1), (2), (3) and (4) of

Section 14

Chapter 438 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Special Places Protection Act ,

is pleased to designate as an ecological site the land described in

Schedule “A” and shown on a

plan attached as

Schedule “B” which ecological site shall be managed in accordance with the

Management Plan attached as

Schedule “C”, and the request for the designation by the owner is

attached as

Schedule “D”, all Schedules being attached to and forming part of the report and

recommendation, which shall be known as the Panuke Lake Nature Reserve, effective on the

date of publication of the designation in the Royal Gazette.

Schedule “A”

ALLthat certain parcel of land lying, being and situate at the south-east side of Panuke Lake in

the County of Hants, Province of Nova Scotia, and being more fully described as follows:

BEGINNING at an iron bar set in place of old Post and Stones # 1690 on the high water mark

of the southeastern shore of Panuke Lake, said bar being N 57° 30' W and at a distance of 48.42

chains from old Post and Stones # 1691;

THENCE S 74° 30' E a distance of 39.00 chains to an iron bar;

THENCE N 33° 10' E a distance of 31.00 chains to an iron bar;

THENCE N 21° 10' E a distance of 30.00 chains to an iron bar;

THENCE N 01° 10' E a distance of 17.00 chains to an iron bar;

THENCE N 28° 10' E a distance of 40.00 chains to an iron bar;

THENCE N 56° 50' W a distance of 22.87 chains to an iron bar on the aforesaid high water

mrk of the south eastern shore of Panuke Lake;

THENCE in a southwesterly direction following the said southeastern shore of Panuke Lake, a

distance of 128 chains more or less, to the place of BEGINNING.

CONTAINING 370.8 acres more or less.
