Port Hood Station Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 76-1319 (November 4, 1976), N.S. Reg. 156/76

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 12th day of October, A.D., 1976, pursuant to

Section 5(1) of

Chapter 6 of the

Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act , is pleased to

designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Port

Hood Station Beach, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in

red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-75, marked

Schedule “B”, and

described in

Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and

recommendation.

Schedule “A”

All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Port Hood

Station Beach, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on

the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-75, attached hereto and being more

particularly described as follows:

Beginning at Iron Post No. W1 situate approximately six hundred feet south of the public road

leading to the beach;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) north seven degrees thirty minutes west, a distance of

six hundred sixty-five decimal ninety-nine feet to an Iron Post No. W2;

Thence north forty-seven degrees two minutes fifty-five seconds west, a distance of one

thousand eight hundred seventy-four decimal eighty-seven feet to a wooden post #W3;

Thence north forty-nine degrees twenty-five minutes forty-nine seconds east, a distance of one

thousand eight hundred eight decimal nineteen feet to a wooden post #W4;

Thence north thirty-nine degrees thirty-eight minutes five seconds east, a distance of eight

hundred eighty-eight decimal eighty-eight feet to a wooden post #W5;

Thence north four degrees twelve minutes east, a distance of two hundred nineteen feet to a

point situate at the southwest corner of a bridge;

Thence north ninety degrees zero minutes west, a distance of four thousand five hundred

eighty feet to a point situate in the waters of Northumberland Strait;

Thence south one degree forty-four minutes fifty-five seconds east, a distance of four thousand

eighteen decimal sixty two feet to a point situate in the water of Northumberland Strait;

Thence north ninety degrees zero minutes east, a distance of three thousand nine hundred sixty

feet to the place of beginning.

Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying

seaward from the mean high watermark.
