Order in Council 1272/2024

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas by Order in Council numbered O.C. 156/2022, dated February 3, 2022, Shashi Bhatia was appointed as a member of the Durham Regional Police Services Board for a period not to exceed three years, effective from February 3, 2022;

And

whereas the Durham Regional Police Services Board was continued as the Regional Municipality of Durham Police Service Board under the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 on April 1, 2024;

And

whereas Shashi Bhatia continued in office as a member of the Regional Municipality of Durham Police Service Board under

section 31 of the Community Safety and Policing Act , 2019 ;

And

whereas Shashi Bhatia has, in writing, resigned her appointment, effective September 24, 2024;

Therefore , pursuant to

section 27 of the Police Services Act and

section 31 of the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 , Order in Council numbered O.C. 156/2022 dated February 3, 2022, appointing Shashi Bhatia as a member of the Durham Regional Police Services Board, is hereby revoked effective the date of this Order in Council.
