OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General dated November 28, 2012, and pursuant to Sections 672.38 and 672.39 of
Chapter C-46 of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985, the Criminal Code, is pleased, effective December 17, 2012, to: (
a) appoint Dr. Ian Slayter of Antigonish, Antigonish County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Review Board for a term of three years; (
b) appoint Dr. Burnley A. Jones, Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a member of the Nova Scotia Review Board for a term of three years; (
c) appoint Stephen A. Mattson, Q.C., Kentville, Kings County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Review Board for a term of three years; (
d) determine the remuneration of Dr. Ian Slayter, Dr. Burnley Jones and Stephen A. Mattson, Q.C. be at the rate of $75.00 per hour, plus reasonable expenses; and (
e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Dr. Ian Slayter, Dr. Burnley Jones and Stephen A. Mattson, Q.C. and indemnify them from personal liability provided the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
