Bridgeport Basin Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 78-789 (July 11, 1978), N.S. Reg. 145/78

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 29th day of June, A.D., 1978, pursuant to

Section 5(1) of

Chapter 6 of the

Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act , is pleased to

designate as a beach an area of land, situate at Deadman Cove, County of Cape Breton, lying

landward from the mean high watermark of Bridgeport Basin Beach, in the County of Cape

Breton, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records

Office Plan No. E-7-92, marked

Schedule “B” and described in

Schedule “A”, both attached to

and forming part of the report and recommendation.

Schedule “A”

All that certain lot, piece, parcel or tract of land situate, lying and being adjacent to Deadman

Cove, in the County of Cape Breton, Province of Nova Scotia and designated as Bridgeport

Basin Beach as shown on a Plan of Survey filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Office

at Halifax as Crown Land Records No. E-7-92, the said parcel being more particularly bounded

and described as follows:

Beginning at Iron Post No. 1 situate (by grid bearings) south thirty-four degrees thirty minutes

twenty seconds east, one thousand one hundred thirty-seven decimal zero nine feet from

Geodetic Control Monument No. 19472;

From Thence south sixty degrees nineteen minutes zero seconds east, five hundred seventeen

decimal nine one feet to Iron Post No. 2 being north seven degrees three minutes zero seconds

east, three thousand one hundred twenty-eight decimal eight one feet from Nova Scotia Control

Monument (N.S.C.M.) No. 1201, based on the Nova Scotia Three Degree Transverse Mercator

Projection, Zone 4, central meridian sixty-one degrees thirty minutes west longitude;

Thence south eighty degrees twenty-seven minutes zero seconds east, nine hundred sixty-five

decimal three two feet to Iron Post No. 3;

Thence south eighty-one degrees twenty-three minutes forty seconds east, three hundred twelve

decimal six zero feet to Iron Post No. 4;

Thence north sixty degrees thirty minutes ten seconds east, two hundred fifty-one decimal

seven nine feet to Iron Post No. 5;

Thence north thirty-six degrees one minute zero seconds west approximately fifty-four feet to

point No. 1 on the mean high watermark of Deadman Cove as shown on said Plan E-7-92;

Thence generally in a westerly direction along the mean high watermark of Deadman Cove,

one thousand nine hundred sixty feet, more or less, to point No. 2 as shown on said Plan

E-7-92;

Thence south twenty-three degrees fifty-three minutes zero seconds west, approximately

eighty-six feet to the place of beginning.
