OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Acting Minister responsible for the administration of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women Act dated May 1, 2008, and pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 3 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Advisory Council on the Status of Women Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint the following persons as members of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women, each for a term of office of three years commencing June 1, 2008 and ending May 31, 2011: Patricia LeBlanc of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality; Doreen Paris of New Glasgow, Pictou County; and Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Chisholm of the Town of Antigonish, Antigonish County; (

b) appoint Jennie Orlando of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Advisory Council on the Status of Women for a term of office of two years commencing June 1, 2008 and ending May 31, 2010; (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against them and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case; and (

d) determine, as a condition of their appointment, that they shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and

Chapter 4 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
