OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated January 11, 2011, and pursuant to Sections 4B, 7, 25G, 25IC, 25J and 84 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and all authority in her vested, is pleased to, effective January 11, 2011: (

a) revoke the appointment of Duff Montgomerie as Deputy Minister of Health Promotion and Protection; (

b) revoke the appointment of Judith F. Ferguson as Deputy Minister of Community Services; (

c) revoke the appointment of Brian Gilbert as Acting Deputy Minister of Natural Resources; (

d) revoke the appointment of Laura Lee Langley as Acting Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Heritage; (

e) revoke the appointment of Jeffrey Conrad as Acting Deputy Minister of Labour and Workforce Development; (

f) revoke the appointment of Jeffrey Conrad as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration; (

g) revoke the appointment of Laura Lee Langley as Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Communications Nova Scotia; (

h) revoke the appointment of Tracey Taweel as Acting Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Communications Nova Scotia; (

i) revoke the appointment of Vaughne Madden as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Acadian Affairs; (

j) revoke the appointment of Wayn Hamilton as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of African Nova Scotian Affairs; (

k) revoke the appointment of Lewis MacKinnon as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Gaelic Affairs; (

l) revoke the designation of Kelliann Dean as deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act for the Advisory Council on the Status of Women; (

m) appoint Duff Montgomerie as Deputy Minister of Natural Resources: (

n) appoint Judith F. Ferguson as Deputy Minister of Labour and Advanced Education; (

o) appoint Judith F. Ferguson as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Immigration; (

p) appoint Judith F. Ferguson as deputy head with the meaning of the Civil Service Act for the Advisory Council on the Status of Women; (

q) appoint Laura Lee Langley as Deputy Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage; (

r) appoint Laura Lee Langley as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Acadian Affairs; (

s) appoint Laura Lee Langley as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of African Nova Scotian Affairs; (

t) appoint Laura Lee Langley as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Gaelic Affairs; (

u) appoint Dave Ryan as Acting Deputy Minister of Community Services: (

v) appoint Sandra McKenzie as Associate Deputy Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism; (

w) appoint Tracey Taweel as Assistant Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Communications Nova Scotia; (

x) designate Duff Montgomerie, Judith F. Ferguson, Laura Lee Langley and Dave Ryan as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

y) designate Sandra McKenzie and Tracey Taweel as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act, in their performance of the duties of the deputy as have been or may be delegated to them pursuant to the

Section 84 of the Public Service Act; (

z) fix and determine the salary of Duff Montgomerie, Judith F. Ferguson, Laura Lee Langley, Dave Ryan, Sandra McKenzie and Tracey Taweel to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; (aa) direct that Duff Montgomerie, Judith F. Ferguson, Laura Lee Langley, Dave Ryan, Sandra McKenzie and Tracey Taweel shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (ab) designate Duff Montgomerie, Judith F.

Ferguson, Laura Lee Langley, Dave Ryan, Sandra McKenzie and Tracey Taweel to be and to have been employees for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
